Danny Noppert crashes out at Alexandra Palace to player competing at first ever PDC World Championship
Danny Noppert has been knocked out of the PDC World Darts Championship in the second round.
The sixth seed was beaten by Justin Hood, who is playing his first PDC World Darts Championship in a nail-biting contest at Alexandra Palace.

Englishman Hood performed admirably against the Dutchman to reach the round of 32 at the Ally Pally with his 3-2 triumph, the deciding set being won in a drama-filled 6-5 tie-breaker.
Hood eased to a 2-0 lead before Noppert pulled it back to 2-2 in the fourth set. Noppert came back from the brink in the final set, including stunning 157 and 127 checkouts.
However, Hood, who is ranked 86th in the world, held his nerve to progress to the third round.
Hood won his World Championship bow last week, beating Nick Kenny at the Alexandra Palace.
The 32-year-old claimed an impressive 3-0 win, and came perilously close to a nine-darter in what would have been the perfect afternoon.
And when asked how he was going to prepare for the meeting with Noppert, Hood exclusively told talkSPORT: “I am going to eat Chinese and do a bit of practice.”
Additionally, Hood has ambitions to open a Chinese restaurant, and claimed that Luke Humphries would be getting involved.
“It’s coming. If I get to the £60,000 round, so round three or four. Luke Humphries said he would buy in with me.”
Hood, though, admitted that Gerwyn Price, who owns a fish and chip shop, is yet to give him catering advice.

Price yet to give Hood catering advice
“He hasn’t yet, but he’s good mates with my friend Ryan Palmer, a class player in his own right, but he hasn’t given me any advice. But I’ll be speaking to him.
“I was over the moon with the way I played. I was clinical and scored well. Nick’s a good player and a good friend. But I took my chances.
“I don’t care if I play the worst player on tour or the best, Luke [Humphries]. If I play my game, I can beat everyone, and if I don’t, I can get beat.
“There are still five or six points to be put on that average, and I am confident that it will come.”
‘I’m really thick so I don’t worry about the pressure’
Hood’s dream of owning a Chinese restaurant moved one step closer on Tuesday as he claimed a 3-2 win over Noppert in one of the shocks of the World Championship.
And following his momentous win, Hood told Sky Sports Darts: “That was a good game, I knew it would be!
“He’s a class player. I gave him a chance and they took it but I won and that’s all that matters.
“I’m really thick so I don’t worry about the pressure. If it’s good enough, it’s good enough.”
Hood will now take on Suffolk’s Ryan Meikle, who beat Jonny Tata 3-2 win round two, in the third round.
