Daniel Dubois’ advisor dismisses party repeat as he discusses changes after Oleksandr Usyk defeat
Daniel Dubois’ manager, Sam Jones, has insisted pre-fight antics will be kept to a minimum before his next fight.
Dubois hasn’t fought since Oleksandr Usyk steamrolled him during a brutal fifth round stoppage in their July 2025 meeting.

In the aftermath of his brutal loss, it was revealed that Dubois’ father Stanley had organised a pre-fight party at their family home.
Details suggested that between 50 and 70 people had attended the ‘gathering’ which led to Dubois arriving at Wembley stadium less than two hours before his scheduled ring walk.
It was later confirmed that they had done the same in 2024, before Dubois claimed a stoppage win over Anthony Joshua.
‘Dynamite’ has since made several changes to his team in the aftermath of the defeat, including linking up with new trainer Tony Sims.
But his father Stanley will still remain an integral part of his boxing career, Jones has revealed, although he believes things will be different next time out.
On the latest episode of talkBOXING, he was quick to play down a repeat of any such events when he returns this year.
He explained: “I promise you it’s not about establishing order, it’s about the fact that it’s not going to happen again.
“They did it before the AJ fight, it worked he looked a million dollars.
“It happened in the Usyk fight and it didn’t go to plan, it was the wrong thing to do.
“We just move forward, it’s not going to happen.
“There’ll be no entourages.”

What’s next for Daniel Dubois?
According to Jones, Dubois will return to the ring within the first five months of 2026.
While his next opponent remains unannounced, Dubois’ team have made it clear that Fabio Wardley would be an- ideal option.
And although a bout seems unlikely in the immediate future, Jones believes it makes perfect sense to see the Queensberry stablemates matched against one another.
He explained: “Fabio Wardley is the champion, so it would be a voluntary defence.
“But outside of AJ, Tyson Fury, Usyk – Dubois is the biggest name for Fabio Wardley to fight, which would therefore generate the most money.
“If Fabio Wardley gets the Usyk fight then all credit to him, he deserves that opportunity.

“But, if he wants to make that fight, we can make it very, very quickly.”
Wardley is one of the hottest names in boxing’s glamour division at the moment, but his next move also remains undecided.
