Dana White makes stance clear on Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal in latest UFC White House update
Dana White has shut down a potential UFC White House clash between Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal.
The fight was initially floated around by Masvidal, who told the Ariel Helwani Show earlier this week that his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, had been in contact with UFC brass regarding the matchup.

“My boy Ali [Abdelaziz] is putting in the facetime,” he said.
“He’s getting in their face. It’s not looking bad right now.
“They’re talking, dialogue has been opened, there is communication, and we will keep that communication open.
“The ball is right in the middle, it’s not negative, the game has started with momentum. It picked up recently.”
Masvidal hasn’t competed in the UFC since hanging up his gloves in April 2023 following a unanimous decision defeat to Gilbert Burns.
He had lost four fights in a row before stepping away from the sport.
But Masvidal has since confirmed his intentions to return to MMA, with a view to competing on the biggest card of the year.
White will begin matching for the UFC White House event next week, with McGregor expected to be among the fighters in the running to headline the unprecedented bill.
When it comes to picking his potential opponent, however, Masvidal’s name will not be in the mix.
What did Dana White say about Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal?
“I don’t listen to any of the goofy s***. It’s goofy s***,” White told TMZ when asked about McGregor vs Masvidal.

“The MMA world, I don’t listen to any of that s***. So literally none of that is on my algorithm.
“Almost everything you see on the internet about our sport is wrong. It’s all wrong.
“You know what’s funny? In my algorithm on Instagram, I have nothing MMA.
“Literally nothing MMA pops up.”
The UFC’s first port of call will be thrashing out terms with McGregor for a new deal as he gears up for his first fight since July 2021.
‘Notorious’ revealed last week that his current contract is ‘void’ due to the promotion’s shift away from the traditional pay-per-view model with streaming partner Paramount+.

“I’m warming up for the White House fight – I’m going to be at it, for sure,” McGregor said during a live stream with his son.
“It’s going to be insane, the White House card. We’re going into negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in February.
“I’m very interested to go. They’ve actually got a new deal with Paramount worth $7.7billion, so the company has 4X’d its profit.
“My contract is essentially void right now because there’s no more pay-per-view, whereas my contract was based on pay-per-view sales.
“I’m the highest-generating pay-per-view fighter of all time – the pay-per-view system is done.
“I’m due a new contract, so we’re going to go into negotiations in February, and I’m very interested to see how it goes.”
