Coral-Eclipse day horse racing tips and best bets at Sandown

Coral-Eclipse Day tips

• 13.50: Mitbaahy 14/1 E/W (1pt)
• 14.25: Beagle Bay 8/1 E/W (1pt)
• 3.35: Constitution River 5/4 (1pt)

Mitbaahy

First up is the Coral Charge, the 5f course that is completely different to the rest of the track as it has it’s own little sprint course in the middle.

Asfoora is just about the favourite but followed closely by Charlie Appleby’s Words Of Truth, at just three-years-old having won four of his last six starts.

He won over course and distance last time out and was only 3/4 of a length behind Flying Comet at Meydan in January so it’s interesting to see him thrive over 5f.

Mitbaahy placed close up, fifth of 27, in the Wokingham Stakes and appeals a lot back down to 5f on his second appearance after a wind op.

He’s had two runs over course and distance before one of them being this race in 2022 where he placed a neck second and another the listed Scurry Stakes which he won well, great course form to back it up.

Beagle Bay

Won over course and distance last time out, the first time over 1m and this reappearance here over the same trip is an interesting one and one that should eke out more of his talent as he’s certainly still progressing.

The Ralph Beckett-trained four-year-old is by New Bay, just like rival Cerulean Bay but is that little bit more unexposed with most of his racing coming in this year.

Constitution River

Three-year-old gets 10lb from his rivals and he’s an impressive horse from the Aidan O’Brien yard, a stable that has won this race three times in succession.

With that kind of form and seeing him pretty much win all the big Group 1’s this season too he’s surely got this in the bag too.

This colt by Wootton Bassett beat Hawk Mountain last time out at Chantilly, having also stormed home at Chester to win by seven lengths ahead of Generic, justifying a huge odds-on price.
