Cheltenham Festival Ante-Post movers after huge weekend of racing
The weekend was always going to answer plenty of questions for the upcoming jumps season with Constitution Hill, The New Lion, Ballyburn and Teahupoo to name just a few in action.
As a result of these crucial races across Fairyhouse, Newbury and Newcastle there’s been a few changes to the ante-post odds for Cheltenham Festival 2026.

Even horses who didn’t race at the weekend were of course affected in the betting.
Lossiemouth has gone in to be 7/4 favourite from 11/4 for the Champion Hurdle after Constitution Hill fell yet again, on Saturday in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle.
And the promising star The New Lion also fell which has prompted much more support for the impressive mare trained by Willie Mullins.
Constitution Hill has become a 12/1 shot for the Champion Hurdle as not only is he a risky bet for not finishing, but also it’s now up in the air where he will go next let alone for Cheltenham.
William Munny, who was runner up to Kopek Des Bordes in the Supreme last year, has also shortened from 10/1 to 7/1 for the Champion Hurdle.
Again, with a lack of form from their rivals it becomes a much more attractive bet each-way.
Romeo Coolio has shortened to just 5/1 from as high as 9/1 for the Arkle after an impressive win on the bridle at the weekend at Fairyhouse in the Grade 1 Betting Drinmore Novice Chase.
The Gordon Elliott-trained horse justified his 8/15 price as you’d hope an odds-on shot would and looks a good prospect for the team now chasing.
Ballyburn, now 5/2 favourite from 4/1 for the Stayers’ Hurdle, stayed on well only to just lose in a photo finish in the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse behind Teahupoo.
That’s another Elliott horse that looks to be a strong contender in the ante-post for the 2026 Cheltenham Festival.
Coming in just a shade from 7/2 to 3/1 with another great determined staying performance.
The Robcour-owned eight-year-old takes his tally to 13 hurdle wins from 20, with a huge 17 finishes in the top three.
