Chelsea disappointed with loan club after recalling youngster – with player set for instant offload
Chelsea have been left disappointed by Borussia Dortmund for trying to permanently sign Aaron Anselmino, talkSPORT understands.
The 20-year-old was shipped off on a season-long loan to Signal Iduna Park last summer to get him up to speed with European football.

A £15.6million signing from Boca Juniors in 2024, Anselimino spent a further season on loan at La Bombonera, before being included in Chelsea’s victorious Club World Cup-winning squad.
After failing to make his debut, the young centre-back was sent to Dortmund for regular first-team football.
Repeated injuries ultimately limited the Argentine Under-20 international to just ten appearances in all competitions – with just six of those outings coming in the Bundesliga.
Loan and behold
And with Chelsea in the midst of an injury crisis at the back with Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo, the decision was made to recall Anselmino from his loan early – much to his dismay.
Videos emerged on social media of the defender in tears as he said goodbye to his Dortmund teammates and coaches.
Chelsea’s decision is believed to have enraged BVB officials, who were blindsided by the news after receiving no signals that the Blues would bring Anselmino back.
But talkSPORT understands that the west London giants are equally as frustrated with the German giants.
The two-time Champions League winners did not appreciate Dortmund trying to persuade Anselmino into agreeing terms over a permanent move.
In November, BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl indicated his desire to keep the youngster at club on a long-term basis.
He said: “We will definitely need to pick up the phone in the next few days and give them a call.

“We have a very good relationship with Chelsea.
“We hope that Aaron will stay, of course.”
Despite Dortmund’s intentions, Chelsea have no desire to sell Anselmino and regard him as an important player for the future.
But in the short-term, they don’t believe he has a role at the club.
As a result, he is being shipped off on loan again, this time to sister club Strasbourg, who share BlueCo as owners alongside Chelsea.
It is understood that the temporary switch is in the final stages of being finalised.

And talkSPORT also understands that Chelsea are in the process of recalling Mamadou Sarr from his loan spell at Strasbourg.
The 20-year-old centre-back, who was part of Senegal’s AFCON-winning squad, was signed last summer on an eight-year deal, with the player staying on loan at Stade de la Meinau.
But unlike Anselmino, he will not be shipped out again, with the player likely to travel to England on Monday.
Having worked with Sarr for 18 months in France, Rosenior is of the opinion that he is ready to deal with the physicality of the Premier League.
