Burnley v Fulham prediction
Fulham head to Lancashire as favourites for victory on Saturday evening but will need to overcome their current run of two consecutive defeats to do so, after their run of four victories in their previous five matches came to a crushing end.
Since winning away at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of last month, Marco Silva’s side side have fallen to back to back defeats at home against Manchester City and Crystal Palace, two sides who occupy Champions League positions at the moment.
The Cottagers have stayed 15th in the table following the defeats but have lost notable ground on the teams above them, now seven points off the top half and have been dragged closer to the relegation battle, now only four points above the drop zone.
The west London side have fared well on their travels in recent weeks though, winning two of their last three away games in all competitions, however only a bottom of the table Wolves side have won fewer matches on the road than Silva’s men.
Burnley head into Saturday’s clash seeing it as the perfect opportunity to end their current barren run of six consecutive defeats which has seen them drop into 19th place in the relegation zone, and are now five points from safety.
Scott Parker’s side are the most out of form team in the Premier League, but will fancy their chances at securing that elusive victory on Saturday at home against one of their relegation rivals.
Seven of Burnley’s 10 points have been won at Turf Moor this season which will give them confidence for Saturday’s clash, and despite only two teams having won fewer points from home, the only teams to have won at Turf Moor in the league this season are either competing in the Champions League or are currently in the top four.
Fulham are winless in their last six matches against Burnley and haven’t won at Turf Moor, shockingly, since 1951 – a run spanning 34 matches and 74 years, however that run could will come to an end on Saturday – I’m predicting a 1-0 away win against a side with six defeats on the spin.
Burnley v Fulham betting tips
Fulham finally win in at Turf Moor
Fulham haven’t won at Turf Moor in 74 years but Saturday’s meeting acts as perhaps their best opportunity to end that, the Cottagers having won four of their last seven matches while Burnley have lost each of their last six and haven’t scored a goal at home since mid-October.
- Fulham to win to nil at 11/5 with Tote
Wilson will score
Harry Wilson became Fulham’s top goal scorer for the campaign with his goal in last weekend’s London derby against Crystal Palace, his third goal contribution in his last three games as he hits a purple patch in form heading into the festive period.
- Harry Wilson to score at 13/5 with 247Bet
Sasa sanctioned
Only one player in the entire Premier League has committed more fouls this season than Sasa Lukic, while no player on either team has been on the receiving end of more yellow cards than the Fulham midfielder.
- Sasa Lukic to be carded at 2/1 with 247Bet
