Buffalo Bills at Jacksonville Jaguars betting tips and predictions for NFL playoff clash
The NFL playoffs continue on Sunday with three wild-card games and the AFC battle in Florida between the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars is expected to be one of the closest contests of the weekend.
The Bills (12-5) were not able to clinch the AFC East title for the first time in six seasons as they finished behind the progressive New England Patriots, but the Jaguars (13-4) took the AFC South crown for the first time since 2022 having gone a miserable 4-13 last season.
The Bills won the teams’ most recent meeting 47-10 in 2024, but a much closer contest is anticipated at Everbank Stadium on Sunday.

Jaguars’ success story may come to an end
The Jacksonville Jaguars have provided one of the better storylines of the NFL season with their rise to prominence under new head coach Liam Coen after a dreadful 4-13 campaign with Doug Pederson at the helm in 2024.
The Jags finished the season at 13-4 thanks to an eight-game winning streak, but the quality of that form has to be questioned as they prepare to face the Bills, who were one of the pre-season favourites to win the AFC.
Six of Jacksonville’s recent wins came over teams who missed the playoffs, and while they were efficient in dispatching them, crushing the Titans 41-7 last week for example, their only notable successes in the second half of the season came over AFC West pair the Chargers and the Broncos.
The Bills carry more of an offensive threat than either of those teams and while they have disappointed at times this season, they ended the regular campaign in good shape with five wins in their last six games, with the only loss coming by one point to reigning Super Bowl champions the Eagles.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen has more playoff experience than any other QB in the AFC bracket this year except the Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers and that could tell.
The Bills’ league-leading pass defence can make life tougher for Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence than any of his recent opponents and Buffalo look the right favourites to win the game.
Shakir can shine in the playoffs
While the Bills lead the NFL in fewest passing yards allowed per game at 156.9, the Jaguars ranked only 21st of 32 in that category with 218.1 per game and that is despite playing some of the weaker offences in the league in recent weeks.
Buffalo quarterback Allen should be able to attack a Jaguars secondary that seemed to come out worse in a mid-season trade when swapping cornerback Tyson Campbell for Greg Newsome of the Browns.
Khalil Shakir has been the Bills’ leading wide receiver this year and he should be capable of exceeding a relatively modest receiving yards line of 42.5, even in an offence that likes to share the ball around.
Shakir shone in the playoffs for the Bills last season with tallies of 61, 67 and 46 yards, making six catches in each game, and he can have another solid post-season outing.
Kincaid a key asset for Allen
Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid is a real weapon for his side when fit and he could be back in business against the Jaguars after a recent knee issue.
Kincaid returned to action against the Jets last week, catching all three of his passes for 48 yards, and he is worth backing to add to his touchdown tally of five this season.
The tight end was on the scoresheet in last season’s dominant win over the Jaguars and often connects with Allen regularly in the big games, such as when having 101 receiving yards and a touchdown in a showdown with the Chiefs in November.
