Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur predictions and betting tips – Last chance saloon for Frank?
Tottenham Hotspur dropped two more points at the weekend, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sunderland. It was just the latest in a string of poor results for a team with Champions League aspirations.
Bournemouth have gone months without a win, but they pushed Arsenal close on Saturday. Can they beat their rivals in midweek?

Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur predictions
Thomas Frank is walking on thin ice.
A set of uninspiring performances and disappointing results over the festive period have left the Tottenham Hotspur manager under pressure.
It increasingly feels like a matter of when, not if, Frank is relieved of his duties. Perhaps that would be harsh. Spurs may have won the Europa League last term, but they also finished one place above the Premier League relegation zone. Over the course of a 38-game season, they were the fourth-worst team in the division.
Frank was appointed precisely to introduce a more measured, pragmatic approach after the exciting but naive attacking football promoted by Ange Postecoglou.
His cause has not been aided by injuries to key creators like Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison. Neither of those players has played a minute this season, while Dominic Solanke is yet to start a match.
That is the optimistic take anyway. The more realistic one is that Frank looks like a bad fit for Tottenham, a club where the ‘how’ has always been as important as the ‘what’.
Spurs supporters joined in a Brentford chant of “boring, boring Tottenham” in the recent 0-0 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium. It is hard to come back from that as a manager, especially one with no credit in the bank at his current club.
That stalemate with Brentford was followed by a 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Sunday. Frank’s team were 1-0 up and well on top at half-time, but they failed to press home their advantage and were ultimately punished. Unsurprisingly, Tottenham were booed off by the home fans.
“I think we need to focus on the positive,” Frank said when the crowd’s reaction was pointed out to him in his post-match press conference.
“In this game the fans were very good, they backed us the whole game. I said many times that that’s what we need and what we want.
“From this performance, there’s more positives to take. Of course, we’re in the results business so we really want to win, but couldn’t kill it with the 2-0.”
Next up is a trip to Bournemouth, who are without a win in 11 Premier League games. If they were to end that streak against Tottenham on Wednesday, Frank would find himself in a precarious position.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur betting tips
Both Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate need of a win when they go head-to-head on Wednesday.
More woes for Spurs
The one silver lining for Tottenham Hotspur is their terrific away record. Only Arsenal have won more points at opposition grounds than Frank’s men.
That does not mean Tottenham have always been convincing at opposition grounds, however.
They delivered a distinctly ordinary display in a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace last month, while Spurs offered next to nothing in that aforementioned goalless draw with Brentford.
In fact, Tottenham have won only one of their last seven matches at opposition grounds in all competitions.
Bournemouth have not been as bad recently as their winless run suggests. They can come out on top here.

Cherries to strike last
Tottenham were punished for their failure to put the Sunderland game to bed, with Brian Brobbey notching an equaliser in the 80th minute.
When they are sitting on a scoreline that suits them, Spurs have a tendency to try and protect what they have.
That is not necessarily a deliberate decision, yet it nonetheless reflects Frank’s mindset.
It is all too easy to imagine Bournemouth piling on the pressure in the closing stages and forcing their way through the Tottenham backline.
Andoni Iraola’s men scored last against Arsenal and they are justifiably favourites to do so here.

Kroupi has fine record
It is something of a risk to tip either of Bournemouth’s two striking options in the anytime scorer market since it is hard to know who will start.
Both Evanilson and Eli Junior Kroupi found the back of the net in the 3-2 loss to Arsenal at the weekend.
But since the former has started Bournemouth’s last two matches, there is reason to believe Kroupi will get the nod against Tottenham.
No player in the Premier League can match Kroupi for efficiency: he is averaging a goal every 85 minutes this term, the best record in the division.
The Frenchman can get his name on the scoresheet again on Wednesday.
