Bayern Munich’s record-breaking win forced to stop for nine minutes as fans left unable to see Harry Kane
Bayern Munich’s 3-1 win against FC Koln in the Bundesliga was suspended just four minutes after kick-off.
Due to a huge amount of pyrotechnics before the match at the RheinEnergieStadion, there was extremely poor visibility, leaving fans unable to see the players.

The home fans created quite the display before the Bundesliga clash got underway at 8:30pm local time.
But in the end, it caused the match to be stopped simply because no one could see anything.
The clash was delayed for nine minutes before officials decided that the firework smoke had sufficiently cleared.
Once things got underway, Vincent Kompany‘s men claimed three points to move 11 points clear at the top of the table.
But they had to do it the hard way by coming from 1-0 down.
Koln were in dreamland when Linton Maina scored, but Serge Gnabry scored during the huge amount of first-half stoppage time added to give Bayern something to build on.
Harry Kane couldn’t find the back of the net, so it was down to defender Kim Min-jae to score in the 71st minute.
Then young star Lennart Karl wrapped it up in the 84th minute.
So, in the end, the delay meant little for Bayern, who have equalled their best-ever points tally at this stage of the season.
The other time they achieved that was under Pep Guardiola in the 2013/14 season.
But their 66 goals after 17 games is a new league record.

Not the perfect start for Kane
This was Bayern’s second Bundesliga game since the winter break, and Kane has only scored once.
Kompany’s side dispatched Wolfsburg 8-1 last weekend, with Kane grabbing a goal.
And on Wednesday night, he couldn’t get on the scoresheet.
Of course, it is early days, but with the Champions League set to return next week, Bayern will want Kane to re-discover his early-season form.
Before these two matches, the England captain had 29 goals from 25 games in all competitions.

He is on course for another incredible season for Bayern as they close in on another Bundesliga title.
His future is still up in the air, but he has revealed recently that he would be talking with the German giants about extending his time in Bavaria.
Speaking at a fan event about a new contract, he said: “Yeah, it is possible for sure. 100 per cent. These are conversations that need to be held, like I spoke on before the winter break as well.
“And I am sure they will happen, but my focus right now is on this season. There is a big opportunity. There is no place I’d rather be right now.”
