The New York Yankees fell short of winning their first World Series since 2009 for a number of reasons. One of those reasons, of course, was the fact that Aaron Judge was not available for both the American League Wild Card Series and American League Division Series due to injuries. New York was able to defeat the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card Series, but the ball club was swept by the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman provided a Judge injury update while speaking to reporters on Wednesday, via SNY Yankees.
“Judge, he was not available to us in the postseason… because of the calf,” Cashman said. “In terms of the rib, we did the exit physicals and that all came out fine for us. We do have a follow-up with the specialist that has to take place still, just to be certain… As of right now we feel like we're in a good place and he can take advantage of the rest of the winter and be ready to go once spring training starts.”
Cashman's update was encouraging. While it did not shut the door on the injury concerns due to the follow-up, it seems like Judge is trending in an overall good direction.

The Yankees' offense did not perform up to expectations, and they clearly need Judge to play a full season to get back on track. New York will do everything it can to help Judge be completely ready for the 2027 MLB season.
