WWE Superstar and current women's world champion Liv Morgan almost missed out on her role in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo due to its non-PG script. Like several WWE stars recently, Morgan also explored a role in the film industry with Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, which she filmed last year in Japan.

Recently, in an interview with Real Sound Japan, Morgan revealed how she initially thought WWE wouldn’t let her audition for Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo because of its non-PG rating in the United States of America. As per Morgan, many WWE executives are fans of Takashi Miike because of which she was allowed to audition.

“It was an audition. My initial concern, though, was that the script wasn’t rated PG. Since the WWE shows I’m on are rated PG, I was prepared for the company to tell me, ‘Absolutely not,’ and stop me from doing it. But many of the WWE executives are big fans of director Takashi Miike, so they gladly gave me permission, saying, ‘If it’s a Miike film, it’s okay. Go ahead and audition,'” she said. Directed by the legendary Takashi Miike, the action thriller film is the third part of the Bad Lieutenant series. In addition to WWE's Morgan, the cast includes Shun Oguri, Lily James, Shotaro Mamiya, and others. The movie premiered at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Morgan is now scheduled to face Chelsea Green at WWE Crown Jewel on Nov. 7, 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the WWE Crown Jewel Championship. However, due to the ongoing conflicts in Saudi Arabia, the status of the event is still not confirmed.
