On Thursday, it was announced that LIV Golf is officially preparing to wind down. Rumors have swirled about LIV Golf's future for months now. Given Thursday's news, attention is now turning to the future of LIV Golf stars — including Bryson DeChambeau. While he will surely continue to participate in major tournaments for as long as he is eligible, will DeChambeau return to the PGA Tour on a consistent basis? Golf insider Dan Rapoport doesn't see it happening, via Dan on Golf.

“LIV Golf is done. It's over… But now the interesting question is where does Bryson go from here? Because if there was one guy who was LIV ride or die, even LIV 2.0 ride or die, it was Bryson DeChambeau,” Rapoport said. “He was like the only big name that was committed to play in this, and as recently as a few days ago, he was saying, ‘I really believe in this, I can't wait to get this thing going.' Now with that not happening, can you really see Bryson playing a full season on the DP World Tour to try to get back to the PGA Tour? I can't see it happening.

“… So does Bryson just for the next, you know, however many years of his prime just play YouTube golf? Pop up at a few golf tournaments with big appearance fees around the world, and play the major championships? He's exempt in the majors through 2029 from winning the 2024 US Open, so that's another three full years of majors. Or does he put his tail between his legs and try to get back to the PGA Tour? I can't see it happening.”

Do Bryson DeChambeau, PGA Tour even need each other?

Bryson DeChambeau is one of the most popular players in the entire game of golf. Some fans don't enjoy watching him go about his business on the course, while others can't help but tune in to watch his booming drives and methodical approaches. He's also gained a massive social media following with his golf videos.

Is there truly a world where DeChambeau settles for focusing primarily on YouTube golf with majors and other various tournament appearances mixed in? Would he rather do that than attempt to return to the PGA Tour? It remains to be seen.

Rapoport clearly doesn't expect DeChambeau to be willing to put in the work to make a full return to the PGA Tour — at least not anytime soon. The golf insider later said the quiet part out loud about why a reunion may not happen.

“Bryson doesn't need the PGA Tour, and the PGA Tour doesn't need Bryson.”

DeChambeau has his social media presence and he can still participate in majors for now. Meanwhile, the PGA Tour has no shortage of stars such as Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.

Both Bryson DeChambeau and the PGA Tour will be fine without another. Still, one has to wonder if a reunion could come to fruition in the distant future. Only time will tell.
