On Saturday evening, the Milwaukee Brewers went up 1-0 in their NLDS series against the San Diego Padres with a wild 3-2 win in Game 1. This game was the subject of immense controversy after Padres first baseman Ty France launched what looked like a sure home run in the ninth inning that would have given his team the lead.
Instead, the ball careened off the closed roof of American Family Field in Milwaukee and ended up being caught for an out, with the umpires ruling that there was not enough evidence that the ball would have been a home run had it not hit the ceiling.
Now, fans are naturally wondering whether or not the roof will once again be in place for Sunday's Game 2 between the two teams.
Article Continues BelowAndy McCalvy of MLB.com has since revealed that the roof will instead be open on Sunday, which will likely come as a relief to some Padres fans, although it still won't do anything to give them back a Game 1 that they thought should have been a win for the squad.
Meanwhile, the Brewers looked shaky throughout the evening in Game 1, but they ultimately made just enough plays, aided by their home stadium itself, to get the win, and now sit just two wins away from advancing to the NLCS for a second straight year.
In any case, Game 2 between the Brewers and Padres is set for Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm ET, once again from Milwaukee, and this time with the sun shining through onto the field.
