LSU coach Lane Kiffin was not surprised by his team's mistakes in its 35-34 overtime loss to Kentucky on Saturday. The No. 10 Tigers had chances to close out the game but failed to make key plays. The Wildcats pulled off an upset at Kroger Field.

Kiffin pointed to missed tackles and poor execution as major reasons LSU could not hold on to its lead. Kentucky scored a late field goal to force overtime before winning with a two-point conversion.

“I mean, not really. If you don't execute the punt return, got a player there tackling them, and he doesn't tackle them, and it goes outside in the long run,” Kiffin said. “So if you don't do fundamentally sound stuff, you get exposed versus good teams.”
