Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers started his final season on a winning note as they defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 20-13, in Week 1.

Despite their hard-earned victory, there were concerns about their offense, which at times looked sluggish and predictable. They needed a decisive pick-six from Steelers linebacker TJ Watt in the fourth quarter to finish off the Falcons.

However, Rodgers, who went 24-of-40 for 221 yards and one touchdown, is not dwelling on their production too much. He claimed that they did not get a fair shake from the referees.

“The whole thing could be deceiving. We had a PI (pass interference) on third down. That could've been a touchdown. We had another blatant PI on DK (Metcalf) that wasn't called. We had an opportunity to roam down the field, with probably a PI. Not called. Didn't come up with it. Had DK in the end zone, for sure PI. He still almost made a ridiculous catch,” said Rodgers in the video posted by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Chris Adamski.

“If two of those go, it's a whole different conversation. That's the way the league is. You can't get too caught up on the specific numbers without looking at what actually happened in the game.”

Metcalf had four receptions on 10 targets for 40 yards.

The 42-year-old Rodgers has seen it all in his illustrious career, and he knows that they have to maintain their equilibrium, especially after just one game.

There will be birth pains in Steelers coach Mike McCarthy's first season, and the four-time MVP will be integral in making sure that they do not veer away from their game plan.

Pittsburgh will aim for its second win against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
