The New York Yankees placed Aaron Judge on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. They called up Max Schuemann to take his place on the roster.
On Saturday, the Yankees said Judge was placed on the 10-day injured list starting September 17 because of a right calf strain. This comes just after the team captain returned from a long break due to a fractured rib.
With Judge returning to the injured list, the Yankees brought up Max Schuemann from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Schuemann plays both infield and outfield. The team shared the news before their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Schuemann, 29, has already played for the Yankees this season. He has appeared in 41 MLB games. In those games, he has a .194 batting average, two home runs, and eight RBIs in 87 plate appearances.

JudgeâÂÂs new injury is another setback after he missed more than three months with a rib injury. He returned on September 8 but played just seven games before injuring his calf and returning to the injured list. In those games, Judge went 4-for-23 with one home run and three RBIs.
The Yankees have not said exactly when Judge will return. Since his time on the injured list started earlier, he will be eligible to be activated from the IL for the teamâÂÂs last regular season game on September 27.
