Chicago White Sox rookie Munetaka Murakami set the early 2026 postseason exit-velocity mark Saturday with a 112.2 mph two-run home run in Game 1 of the ALDS against the Cleveland Guardians. The 440-foot blast off left-hander Parker Messick gave the White Sox a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning at Progressive Field.
MLB’s Sarah Langs took to X, formerly Twitter, Saturday to highlight the significance of Murakami’s first postseason home run.
“Munetaka Murakami!
112.2 mph home run!
That’s the hardest-hit ball so far this postseason”
Talkin’ Baseball also took to the platform, sharing a clip of the blast, which came after Miguel Vargas singled to open the inning.
