Chicago White Sox infielder Chase Meidroth delivered a crushing blow to the Houston Astros on Wednesday, launching a three-run homer in the sixth inning of American League Wild Card Game 2 at Daikin Park.
The White Sox held a 4-3 lead into the sixth inning after the Astros chipped away with solo homers from Jeremy Pena, Cam Smith and Jose Altuve. Meidroth then turned on an 87 mph slider and drove it an estimated 390 feet to left, scoring Luisangel Acuña and Tristan Peters to stretch the White Sox advantage to 7-3. MLB shared the moment on X, formerly Twitter, as Chicago moved closer to a series-clinching win for the first time in 21 years.
