The Ohio State football team suffered a brutal defeat on Saturday to Oregon. The Buckeyes are now 6-3 on the season, and the team's chances of making the College Football Playoff are likely up in smoke.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day had a message to his team following the loss to the Ducks.
“I just told the team in the locker room that now we've got to weather this storm,” Day said, per ESPN. “And it'll be a storm here, something that none of us are used to at Ohio State.”
The Buckeyes lost to Oregon, 41-28. It was a historic defeat for Day. This is the first time in his Ohio State tenure where he has suffered three losses in a season, per ESPN.
“We were able to get no rhythm on offense,” Day said. “That put the defense in some tough situations.
“So I've got to evaluate everything. … It all starts with the staff and then it goes to the players. There needs to be accountability for all of it.”
Ohio State is playing without regular starting quarterback Julian Sayin. Sayin is down with an injury. Without Sayin, the Buckeyes have gone with Luke Fahey at quarterback. He is a true freshman.
Fahey finished the Oregon game with 360 yards passing.

The Buckeyes are now 6-3 on the season, and 4-2 in the Big Ten. Ohio State still has conference games left this season with Michigan, Northwestern and Nebraska.
The Buckeyes next play Northwestern on Saturday in Columbus.
