After the Atlanta Falcons' disappointing Week 1 20-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the fanbase has been concerned about the quarterback position after Cooper Rush started last Sunday. With Falcons star Michael Penix Jr. returning to practice, as he's still recovering from a partially torn ACL in Week 1 of last season, he would speak on the possibility of coming back on Sunday in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers.
According to Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Penix would say that playing on Sunday is âÂÂstill a possibility.â Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Penix would emphasize how âÂÂcloseâ he is to returning to the field.
âÂÂI know I've been saying that, but there's just a couple of technical things that I want to hit, some goals that I have that I want to achieve before I do stuff out on that field. But I do feel really good, and we're taking strides each and every day,â Penix said, via the team's website.
More information to come.
