The San Francisco 49ers sealed a huge 23-17 home win over the Washington Commanders in Week 6 action with a huge game-ending sack from defensive end Romello Height on Jayden Daniels. It wasn't all a bed of roses as Mike Evans was ruled out with an Achilles injury, but the 49ers pressed on as Raheem Morris' defense shut the door on Dan Quinn's team.
After the game, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan described what he “loves” about the team's defensive play-caller in comments made to KNBR radio.
“I love how we fly to the ball, I love how we hit. The older guys have set that standard and the young guys have really bought into it and play the same way,” Shanahan said.
Height is a third-round pick of the 49ers out of Texas Tech University from the 2026 NFL Draft who is still learning Morris' ways. His huge sack of Daniels, complete with a giant club on his right hand, showed that he has many new levels to unlock as he continues to learn the 49ers' team standards, and gets healthier.

Morris' defense will have a chance to continue its wave of good momentum on October 25 against the Falcons as players and coaches continue to celebrate their big win over Washington.
Quarterback Brock Purdy made NFL history in the first quarter of the 49ers' win, a surefire, positive sign that led to even better things throughout the night at Levi's Stadium as he was uplifted by Morris' defense.
