The Golden State Warriors have a new star on their hands in rookie Yaxel Lendeborg. The Michigan national champion is sparking early NBA Rookie of the Year thoughts. But fans of the Dubs also saw his chemistry with Stephen Curry against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Which sparks the belief Curry has a new “Klay Thompson” collaborator here.

Curry shredded the T-Wolves with 44 points with eight rebounds and six assists. Lendeborg, though, went off on the scoring side too in the 119-114 victory.

Lendeborg rose as the lead scorer for the national champs. He proved he can run the floor and throw the basketball with fierce intent.

And Lendeborg entered the Target Center potentially becoming a scratch. He dealt with left foot inflammation and soreness on Wednesday morning/afternoon leading into the game.

Turns out that foot ailment was a non-factor for him. He looked poised, focused and comfortable running the floor for a team that loves playing fast and spreading the ball. Lendeborg played the role of facilitator and secondary scoring option next to the four-time NBA champion guard Curry.

The 24-year-old also became fresh off dropping his first massive double-double of his NBA career: Scoring 31 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. He also dished six assists while blocking one shot against the Denver Nuggets.

He's also impressed the NBA on NBC crew of Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady and Carmelo Anthony; all three even handing Lendeborg advice and being in awe of his league debut.

So now the Dubs have Lendeborg showing he can coexist and dominate next to Curry.
