As the 2026-27 NBA season has gotten underway, the biggest question mark surrounding the Golden State Warriors is the health of Kristaps Porzingis. The Latvian big man has yet to make his season debut as he’s been away from the team amid heath issues. As the situation drags on, some have suggested that the Warriors might look to try and offload Porzingis via trade. In fact, for ClutchPoints’ NBA insider Brett Siegel, he believes Porzingis will not appear in a Warriors uniform again.

“They are going to do one of two things here. They’re either going to look to trade him … and if they don’t, and he’s on their roster past the trade deadline, which I don’t see happening, but in the weird circumstance that he is, they would simply buy him out of his contract,” Siegel suggested. “He is not going to be back with this team.”

Kristaps Porzingis has been dealing with health issues since before the trade to the Warriors last season. The issue appeared to flare up right before the Boston Celtics traded him to the Atlanta Hawks in the 2025 offseason. He spent only half a year with the Hawks before they traded him to the Warriors in the Jonathan Kuminga deal.
