With the Minnesota Vikings preparing for a matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 2, the status is still up in the air as to whether quarterback Kyler Murray will play, as he's currently in the concussion protocol. As fans await any injury update to the Vikings quarterback, the team provided one on Wednesday as Murray progresses.
Posting on their official social media accounts, Minnesota said that Murray was limited in Wednesday's practice, saying that the signal-caller is progressing during his concussion protocol stint.
âÂÂQB Kyler Murray (concussion) will be limited during today's practice as he progresses through the protocol,â the team wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
It feels that Murray is heading in the right direction without any setbacks after taking a hard hit to the helmet in the first quarter while sliding, leading him to exit the 39-22 win over the Green Bay Packers. Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that Murray had been feeling âÂÂpretty goodâ a dat after the game.
âÂÂHe came in feeling pretty good today,â O'Connell said Monday, via the team. âÂÂHe is in the protocol, so we'll defer to the medical folks in that protocol for how the week goes. We'll just take it a day at a time.âÂÂ

Would Vikings keep starting Carson Wentz over Kyler Murray?
After Murray left the game, in came Carson Wentz as he threw for 133 yards with three touchdown passes, completing 12 of 19 pass attempts. With some speculating Wentz would keep the starting job if Murray were to miss Week 2 and the veteran continues to play well, NFL insider Ian Rapoport would set the record straight on that line of thinking.
âÂÂI'd be surprised if he was their starting quarterback,â Rapoport said during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. âÂÂKyler is gonna come back, and I would expect it to be him⦠We really saw why Kevin O'Connell trusts Carson Wentz like thisâ¦.That was impressive; this is why he's the backup.âÂÂ
