The Minnesota Vikings improved to 5-0 on the young season with a very solid 23-13 win over the New Orleans Saints on the road on Sunday. Minnesota finally got Kyler Murray and Justin Jefferson on the field together for an entire game, and the new duo did not disappoint.
Murray had his best day yet as a Viking, finishing 24-of-30 with 229 yards and a touchdown while adding 51 yards on the ground. Jefferson was his top target, notching six catches for 79 yards and an incredible touchdown through triple coverage. Murray found the LSU product in the back of the end zone behind a trio of Saints for the score in the third quarter to give the Vikings a lead they would never relinquish.
After the game, Jefferson tipped his cap to Murray for the great throw that set up his third touchdown of the season, via ESPN's Kevin Seifert.
“Definitely wasn't the most open, but it was a great throw,” Jefferson said. “I mean, there was nothing else that I could do besides just put my hands up and make the grab. That throw was tremendous.”
Both Jefferson and Murray have dealt with injuries this season, so it was great to see them both get on the field and stay healthy for a full game. Murray suffered a concussion in Week 1 and missed Week 2 as Carson Wentz handled the quarterback duties. Then, when Murray returned in Week 3, it was Jefferson who was forced out of action with an ankle injury.

The star wideout grew up nearby and became a legend in the city while playing at LSU. His legendary 2019 Tigers team even won their national championship against Clemson in the Superdome in New Orleans.
Jefferson and Murray will look to build on this performance going into their bye week. When they come back in Week 7, they will take on the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 25 at home in Minnesota.
