The Golden State Valkyries held their championship parade on Wednesday, and star wing Gabby Williams pulled up carrying her Finals MVP trophy. As she arrived at the event, she was greeted by throngs of cheering Valkyries fans showing their appreciation for her performance during the playoffs and throughout the season.
Gabby Williams’ star performance during Game 7 of the WNBA Finals was a big catalyst for the Valkyries defeating the Atlanta Dream and winning their franchise’s first championship in only their second season. She scored 28 of her 30 points in the second half of Game 7 to help carry the team across the finish line.
Signed as a free agent in the offseason, Williams was the one major difference between last season’s Valkyries squad and this year’s roster. Stay tuned for more coverage from the Valkyries’ championship parade.
