UCLA football had its biggest win of the season on Saturday, as the Bruins upset Oregon 17-15. After the contest, UCLA head coach Bob Chesney was fired up about the victory.

While Chesney was fired up after the game, his pregame speech shows why UCLA was ready to go in their big game, per On3.

“Burn the f****** boats. There is no way out. We can’t go that way. You got to go through those mother f******,” Chesney said pregame.

The fiery speech, filled with f-bombs, fired up UCLA. UCLA had a 10-6 lead at the end of the first half, helped by a Wayne Knight run. Knight would add another touchdown in the fourth quarter. Oregon would attempt the comeback. They hit a field goal with 5:16 left to go, and then scored on a touchdown pass from Brock Thomas with 2:16 left in the game. They went for two to tie the game, but the two-point attempt failed. UCLA punted on the next drive, but Oregon could not score, taking the loss.

In the game, UCLA lost quarterback Nico Iamaleava to an injury, and he may be out for the year. Still, the backup quarterback, Ty Diffenbach, was able to lead UCLA to the upset.

UCLA has jumped up the Top-25 rankings with a 5-0 record. The Bruins could be in a position to make a run at the playoffs. They face just one ranked team on the rest of their schedule, and that is rival USC the last week of the season. They also visit Michigan the second-to-last weekend of the season. This week, UCLA has a date at home against Wisconsin.
