This horse has only won twice on the turf, but placed in second or third ten times.

He returns to 1m2f for the first time since August 2024, a distance where his only two wins have come from, the majority of his races have been solely over 1m with the odd flutter at the distance in the middle of the two.

This Class 4 handicap is much more his ability and benefits from being dropped down in the weights heavily after his last few defeats.

But none of these horses have been firmly consistent winners which is why there's a strong chance of a surprise.

Hamlet's Night has been solid over hurdles but a win on the turf still eludes him, while Due To Henry is without a win in nearly two years - so there's going to be a relative shock today no matter who wins it.

Axel Bleue

Has the chance to get the better of Mt Fugi Park this time after placing just a neck behind him at Worcester in July.

Had a wind op since and returned in August to win by a short head this time himself, should keep progressing and as a six-year-old who's now won two and placed narrowly off the win in his last three races, while continuing to climb in the ratings he's surely just going to keep progressing for now.
