The New England Patriots rolled without TreVeyon Henderson for the New York Jets game over a week ago. Fans of the Pats have wondered if coach Mike Vrabel and company would see him fully healthy for the Miami Dolphins showdown. Especially after earning some carries against the Chicago Bears.

The running back didn't practice Thursday, though, per Patriots insider for ESPN Mike Reiss. However, there's a different reason as to why Henderson sat this one out.

“RB TreVeyon Henderson didn't practice today due to illness, per the Patriots' injury report,” Reiss posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Henderson previously dealt with an ankle sprain from the victory over the Las Vegas Raiders during Oct. 16. So signs are indicating that his ankle is now fully healed for the Dolphins contest.

However, Henderson could easily fall into the “questionable” category if the illness stretches to Friday. Still, Henderson appears to be closing fast on earning carries again before Thanksgiving.

New England sits at second in the AFC East standings with its 4-3 mark. Except the Pats have struggled on the road this season, owning a 1-3 mark in games outside of Foxborough. Sunday's showdown takes place inside Hard Rock Stadium.
