After 38-year-old Siddharth Jawahar pleaded guilty to three counts of wire fraud in January 2026, resulting in an 11-year jail sentence, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was named as one of the victims of the Ponzi scheme, which cost investors more than $35 million.

On Tuesday, Sep. 15, 2026, Kelce was named in court as one of the victims of Jawahar's scheme. However, the amount he lost and the full extent of his connection to the case were not disclosed.

Jawahar, an illegal immigrant, pleaded guilty to three counts of wire fraud in U.S. District Court in St. Louis, Missouri, in January 2026. Jawahar was ordered to pay $31 million in restitution to his victims.

He previously ran an investment company called Swiftarc Capital LLC, based in Texas. Jawahar eventually funneled all his clients into Philip Morris Pakistan (PMP) in 2015. Swiftarc Capital LLC was just one of the companies Jawahar used in his scheme.

According to the press release (via the New York Post), PMP's value started trending downward, but he didn't tell that to investors, instead leading them to believe they were making profits off their investments. However, out of the $35 million he received, he allegedly invested just $10 million of it from July 2016 to December 2023.

Instead, he used the money to purchase luxurious items, such as private jets and “upscale apartments” in Austin, Texas, and New York.

After his indictment, Jawahar allegedly tried to “coach” one of his victims into giving a “favorable” statement to the FBI. He was allegedly worried about his immigration status and finances being uncovered, even having his sister wipe his iPhone clean.

Kelce's mention in the case comes after the Chiefs' Week 1 win over the Denver Broncos. He turned back the clock with a 59-yard reception in the game. He finished as the team's leading receiver, logging 71 yards.
