Tennessee Titans offensive tackle JC Latham is making it clear there is no lingering personal animosity with Jordan Elliott. That's even as the former defensive tackle's reported firearm incident at the team's facility triggers an NFL investigation. Latham addressed the confrontation Wednesday. He described an unfortunate situation and emphasized that the two had previously maintained a friendly relationship.

“There ain't never been no bad blood between us two,” Latham said, according to team reporter Jim Wyatt. The incident occurred October 15, when an altercation between the linemen during practice reportedly escalated after Elliott left the field and went to his vehicle to retrieve a firearm. Veteran defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers reportedly intervened. He helped de-escalate the situation before anyone was injured.

Tennessee subsequently released Elliott following its review of the incident. The league has confirmed it is reviewing the matter. An NFL spokesperson told ProFootballTalk that the club promptly notified the league. NFL rules prohibit firearms at team facilities, making the episode a serious potential policy violation. Although Elliott is currently a free agent, the investigation could have consequences if he signs with another team. Latham's comments offer a personal perspective on the confrontation. However, they do not diminish the seriousness of the reported incident or resolve the questions facing the league.

Elliott's NFL career began when the Cleveland Browns selected him in the third round of the 2020 draft. He developed into a regular starter before spending two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He appeared in 31 games with 29 starts. Elliott joined Tennessee in 2026 on a two-year contract and recorded 11 tackles across five appearances, including one start. His Titans tenure ended abruptly after the October incident. That has left his immediate NFL future uncertain as the league review continues.
