LaMelo Ball’s blockbuster trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves has resulted in him forming one of the NBA's most exciting duos with Anthony Edwards. The two young superstars are largely expected to take Minnesota to the next level after a series of disappointing playoff exits in recent seasons.

Now, none other than the Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has given the duo his seal of approval, choosing Ball and Edwards over the Los Angeles Lakers’ duo of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. Adebayo was asked to choose between the two duos during his recent appearance on The Makeshift Podcast, per a post on X by Kalshi Hoops.

“That's tough cause you've seen Luka and Reaves play,” he said. “I'll say Ant and LaMelo. I feel like they're gonna be exciting for [the Wolves]… Everything off the court is gonna be hilarious. The off the court media training, hilarious.”

There is little doubt that Ball and ANT are two of the most gifted young offensive stars in the league. Moreover, they are two of the most outspoken, with both players rarely backing down from challenges and producing regular, memorable moments in their press appearances.

Adebayo believes that the Timberwolves’ new duo will not only produce the goods on the court but also prove entertaining during press conferences. While Ball has undoubtedly hit the ground running in the two preseason games he has appeared in thus far, it might be too early to call them the better duo, especially considering how both Reaves and Doncic had positive campaigns for LA despite the injuries.

Reaves produced his career-best season last campaign, averaging 23.3 points, 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game across 51 regular-season games. Meanwhile, Doncic is expected to be the Lakers’ MVP candidate next season, finishing 4th in voting last season.

At the same time, it is easy to see why Adebayo expects the Ball-Edwards tandem to not only deliver on the court, but also help Minnesota emerge as one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the NBA next season.
