Cowboys cornerback Joey Porter Jr. played 25 snaps against the Texans on Sunday. He was expected to play a bigger role tonight, but instead, won’t play at all.

The Cowboys ruled out Porter with an illness.

The team announced Porter’s status 10 minutes before inactives were due.

Porter has not allowed a touchdown in his last 1,685 coverage snaps, per Pro Football Focus.

The Cowboys acquired him in a trade with the Steelers last week. He was inactive for the three games he was with Pittsburgh, unhappy that he didn’t get a long-term contract extension before the start of the season.
