Oklahoma City Thunder star center Chet Holmgren will miss at least 8-to-10 weeks due to a right knee injury, the team announced on Friday evening. Holmgren, who missed each of the last two games for the Thunder, has been sidelined due to what the team called right knee patellar tendinitis.

After experiencing mild discomfort in his right knee on October 25 before the team's fourth game of the season against the Phoenix Suns, Holmgren had a series of consultations with specialists before a “biological treatment” was performed to address a small patellar tendon tear.

This is now the third significant injury that the Thunder are dealing with not even two weeks into the 2026-27 season. All-Star wing Jalen Williams suffered a fratcured left fibula and dislocated ankle that resulted in ligament repair during surgery, and All-Defensive guard Cason Wallace suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder during the same game against the LA Clippers on Oct. 25 in Oklahoma City.

All three starters are now sidelined indefinitely, with Holmgren expected to remain out until the calendar flips to 2027.

This is a developing story that will be updated shortly.
