On Sunday, the New York Giants hit the road for a game against the Houston Texans, looking to pick up their fourth win of the season. The Giants started JJ McCarthy at quarterback in this one after he took over down the stretch for Jameis Winston last week against the New Orleans Saints.

In the first half of this contest, Giants running back Cam Skattebo was called for a truck stick penalty after lowering his helmet on a run vs the Texans' defense.

Fans in the comment section were certainly not thrilled with the controversial call.

“Just abolish football if we're going to do this. Pointless,” wrote one fan.

“Fair call? The refs just hate fun, change my mind,” chimed in another.

Skattebo was back in the lineup after being benched last week following his fumbling issues vs the Washington Commanders, but it's highly unlikely the coaching staff will hold this controversial penalty against him.

Meanwhile, New York got off to a solid start overall to this game, leading 7-3 after the first quarter against a Texans team that suddenly looked like a potential contender in the AFC again following their recent win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

McCarthy had another solid opening to this game after dicing up the Saints' defense last week and nearly leading the Giants to a miraculous comeback victory, doing so against one of the league's top defenses in Houston.

In any case, after the conclusion of this game, the Giants will next hit the field on November 8 vs the Philadelphia Eagles.
