Trevor Lawrence has every reason to celebrate after the Jacksonville Jaguars dismantled the Baltimore Ravens 33-10 on Thursday Night Football. However, the franchise quarterback was quick to identify one area that still needs improvement. They need to finish offensive drives with touchdowns instead of settling for field goals. Despite another dominant performance that pushed Jacksonville to 6-2 and sole possession of first place in the AFC South, Lawrence believes his team left valuable points on the field.
“We were ready to go from the jump… but we should have had more [points],” Lawrence said, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. His frustration centered on Jacksonville's inability to consistently capitalize on favorable field position created by its aggressive defense. Kicker Cam Little converted four field goals. However, the Jaguars could have made the final margin even more commanding with better red-zone execution.
Jacksonville's defense forced three turnovers. It repeatedly gave Lawrence and the offense opportunities to extend their advantage. Yet several promising drives stalled before reaching the end zone, an issue that could become more costly against tougher playoff competition.
Lawrence's 2026 campaign has been defined by improved efficiency and leadership under head coach Liam Coen. Through eight games, he has distributed the football effectively to targets such as Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers while benefiting from a productive ground attack. His 242-yard performance against Baltimore, highlighted by a 50-yard touchdown strike, further strengthened his growing MVP case.
The Jaguars have now outscored their last two opponents by a combined 75-17. They have established themselves as legitimate AFC contenders. Still, Lawrence's postgame assessment reflects a quarterback unwilling to settle for comfortable victories. If Jacksonville wants to become a genuine Super Bowl threat, turning more scoring opportunities into touchdowns will be essential.
