The Texas Longhorns didn't have star edge rusher Colin Simmons for their clash against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. But it didn't matter as the Longhorns built up a 17-point lead over the Bulldogs at halftime.

Now, Texas will have to make do without their star receiver as Cam Coleman will sit out the rest of the game. Coleman was spotted heading into the locker room and came out wearing street clothes after halftime.

Coleman already more than did his part in the half of the game he did play in, though, as he gave Texas the lead with a 14-yard touchdown. He also added a 47-yard catch and finished the game with two catches for 61 yards and a score.

The Texas defense got the team's other first-half touchdown as they recovered a fumble by Mississippi State quarterback AJ Swann and returned it 61 yards. Despite missing Simmons, the Longhorns defense has had no problem shutting down a Bulldogs offense that has struggled mightily since Kamario Taylor's toe injury.

It remains to be seen whether Coleman suffered a significant injury which led to his early exit. If so, that would be another big blow for Texas heading into the tail-end of their schedule. Heading into the game, Coleman was tied for second in the team with 21 receptions and second with 348 yards. With his touchdown against the Bulldogs, he extended his team lead with seven touchdowns this season.

If Coleman does miss time, Ryan Wingo and Emmett Mosley V will be Arch Manning's primary receiving options moving forward.
