Texas football boasts the projected top overall pick of the 2027 NFL Draft in quarterback Arch Manning. But one Georgia legend isn't sold on the QB of the nation's top-ranked team. Even mentioning him with Carson Beck.

Ex-Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray dropped a telling pre-draft take of Manning Thursday via Sirius XM. He didn't mince words about compartmentalizing Manning's game.

“He’s got a good arm and he’s a good athlete. [But] he’s inconsistent with accuracy,” Murray stated during his appearance on College Sports Radio on XM. “But there’s nothing, to my point, that jumps off the page of like ‘we’re drafting him because he has this.’ People are going to draft him because he has the last name Manning. Not because he’s got a strong arm, not because he’s elite accuracy, not because he’s Lamar Jackson speed, because his last name’s Manning. Tell me, I’m wrong.”

So count Murray as a non-believer of Manning's top pick potential. Even declaring Manning a “mid-round” talent and comparing him to Beck. But Murray turned heads with this next statement.

“I would take Carson over him every day of the week because of the arm. Carson can throw that football. I mean, can throw it, and he’s got some good athleticism too,” Murray said. “Obviously, not the same kind of (athleticism) that Arch does. But if you put Arch and Carson next to each other throwing a football, (it’s a) night and day difference. Night and day difference. I don’t think he’s got an NFL arm.”

The last part from Murray is most telling. As CFB fans know the bloodlines Manning shares with famed uncles Peyton and Eli, plus legendary grandfather Arch Manning.
