Coach Steve Sarkisian's Texas Longhorns took on the Ole Miss Rebels on a day when Arch Manning got advice from Tim Tebow and another former NFL QB. Texas AD Chris del Conte pumped the breaks on Manning criticism as his team prepared for a showdown with Pete Golding's No. 7 Rebels in Austin.
The Longhorns led 10-3 near midfield with Manning dropping back to throw. He eschewed his checkdowns in favor of a deep ball to one of his favorite targets, receiver Ryan Wingo, and threaded a perfect pass to his streaking teammate for a picture-perfect 50-yard touchdown pass that fired up the Texas faithful.

Manning continued to shake off the criticism, and the Rebels, as he led his team to a big lead before halftime. A Michael Terry III rushing touchdown gave Texas a 24-3 lead with just over nine minutes to go in the second quarter, a big response on a week when everyone seemed to doubt the Longhorns and their maligned star QB.
