After making a joke about seeing an AI video of Steve Sarkisian slapping Holly Rowe, Texas Longhorns football quarterback Arch Manning is now under fire, as are members of the media.

The clip from the press conference has gone viral, with a lot of attention being drawn to Manning's distasteful joke and the reaction of the reporters.

Manning made the joke, immediately starting to laugh, and several members of the press can be heard laughing in the background.

NBC Sports' lead college football insider Nicole Auerbach's response to the video went viral, saying, “The laughter from all the men in the room … so, so gross.”

Stacey Dales, a senior national reporter who works for NFL Network, was unfortunately not surprised, saying, “Nothing unusual though. Par for the course.”

Former ESPN SportsCenter anchor Linda Cohn said the quiet part out loud, asking, “Wonder if these male hyenas would be laughing if Holly was their wife, mother, sister or daughter?!”

Tricia Whitaker also weighed in, calling the situation of Manning and the reporters laughing “gross on so many levels.” She stated, “A woman being hit isn't a punchline. Tell that to a domestic violence survivor. Sickening.”

Manning's joke was about a viral AI edit of Sarkisian and Rowe. The video showed the Texas Longhorns' football coach slapping the ESPN reporter.

It stemmed from a controversial moment following Texas' big comeback against Ohio State on Saturday, Sep. 12, when Sarkisian brushed off a postgame interview with Rowe.

She approached Sarkisian after the game for a postgame interview on the field. However, he interrupted her and yelled, “That's called Texas fight! That's called Texas fight! Hook 'em!” before walking away, throwing up the horns gesture.

This wasn't the first instance of him avoiding an interview during the game. At halftime, the Longhorns were down 20-3. Laura Rutledge couldn't conduct an interview with him because of technical difficulties. He later apologized for not being able to do the interview.

Texas ultimately came back, erasing a 23-3 deficit in the fourth quarter. Manning threw for 195 yards and a touchdown, and he also rushed for 24 yards.
