The Houston Texans (0-4) on Tuesday signed linebacker Chad Muma to their practice squad, according to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.
Muma, 27, was originally selected 70th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2022 NFL Draft and has also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots.
Muma arrives in Houston with 58 regular-season games of experience. He has started seven of those contests and has accumulated 103 tackles, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and three passes defended. He also appeared during the 2025 postseason with New England, helping the Patriots eliminate the Texans.
The move comes as the Texans sort through a changing linebacker room. Azeez Al-Shaair, Henry To'oTo'o and EJ Speed are all dealing with injuries, leaving Houston to cycle through available options. Kenneth Murray was elevated to the 53-man roster for the Week 4 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys and served as the defense's green-dot signal caller and a starting linebacker before suffering a concussion late in the game.

Vaughn has appeared in 16 career games with the Cowboys, recording 40 rushing attempts for 110 yards and 10 receptions for 58 yards. Meanwhile, Davis has played three games for the Arizona Cardinals, all in 2025, logging three tackles across more than 60 snaps.
The Texans will face the Tennessee Titans on the road Sunday in Week 5.
