Prairie View A&M is the home of Kylee Owens, Terrell Owens' daughter. She built a legacy at the institution as a volleyball player, becoming one of the best at Prairie View A&M. Owens' rise began in 2022, when she was named SWAC Freshman of the Year, a starting point for what would become one of the conference's most productive volleyball careers.
Her breakout came in 2024, when she was named SWAC Volleyball Player of the Year and earned First-Team All-SWAC honors. She posted 355 kills, 318 digs and 47 service aces that year, numbers strong enough to land her AVCA Southwest All-Region honorable mention, the first all-region honor in program history.ÃÂ National recognition followed, with Owens earning an AVCA Division I All-America honorable mention, placing her among a select group of players honored at that level.
The production didn't stop there. Owens went on to surpass 1,500 career kills at Prairie View A&M, add a second First-Team All-SWAC selection to her résumé, and help the Lady Panthers claim a SWAC regular-season championship. Now the Owens family is sewing back into Prairie View A&M as they begin their volleyball season in the SWAC.
