Arizona sits at No. 22 in the College Football Playoff rankings and has a murky path to the Big 12 championship, but if the Wildcats can upset No. 3 Utah at home next Saturday and get some help from Texas Tech, BYU and Houston, they can potentially force their way into the CFP picture late in the year. Brent Brennan and company cannot look past TCU, however. Hudson Hooper made sure of it on Friday night.
With a little more than four minutes remaining in the first half of this conference clash, the senior linebacker held his position and intercepted a Noah Fifita pass at the Horned Frogs' 7-yard line. That alone would have been enough to swing momentum, but Hooper maximized the turnover and brought the ball all the way to the opposite end zone for a 93-yard touchdown. The visiting squad grabbed a 14-10 lead and let a stunned Tucson crowd know that this would not be a walkover.
The game remains tight in the fourth quarter.
