After the Los Angeles Rams blew out the New York Giants on Monday night, 28-6, the team showed why some considered them a potential favorite to win the Super Bowl this season. While the Rams went through a debacle in Australia in Week 1 with the disappointing 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Stephen A. Smith would give insight into how they bounced back.
There's no denying the aforementioned loss to the 49ers was frustrating, but that only fueled Los Angeles on Monday in giving a team-wide productive outing, taking advantage of the injuries on New York with Jaxson Dart, Brian Burns, and others. Smith would highlight both sides of the ball in the win, even when star wide receiver Puka Nacua didn't play, leading to Davante Adams recording a whopping 195 yards on eight catches with two touchdowns.
“We witnessed the Los Angeles Rams; what transpired against the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, was not indicative of the kind of season that they intend to have,” Smith said. “That they still have the reigning league MVP in quarterback Matthew Stafford, a sensational wide receiver tandem in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, even though Puka Nacua didn't play last night, but DeVante Adams did and played stellar and [Kyren] Williams and [Blake] Corum know how to do what the hell they do.”
“A defense that's going to need to be reckoned with because Aaron Donald, the monster, has returned. And when he's around, something just elevates defensively,” Smith continued.

At any rate, it remains to be seen if the Rams can continue this level of dominance as Week 3 has the team taking on the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
