The Pittsburgh Steelers needed overtime to get the win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who were playing without starting quarterback Baker Mayfield. Jalon Daniels, who was starting in place of Mayfield, had a rough day as he was sacked five times and picked off twice.
One of those two interceptions was care of Jamel Dean, and it also came at a crucial time. The game was still tied at 16-16 with under two minutes left. Dean's pick led to a Steelers field goal.
Dean, who had spent his first seven seasons in the NFL playing for Todd Bowles in Tampa Bay, shared just how emotional that moment was for him.
“It was a bittersweet moment. For the first time, I could be on the opposite side to see what that experience is like. At the same time, I was like ‘I guess I've got to go against the guy that taught me the game of football.' I don't want his teachings to go to waste. Hopefully, he's proud of me knowing that everything he taught me has translated to another organization,” Dean said per Greg Auman of Fox Sports.

Todd Bowles was with him throughout his journey in Tampa, first as a defensive coordinator and then as a head coach. This was his first pick for the Steelers after signing a three-year, $36.75 million deal with them this offseason.
Despite the win and the 4-2 record, it doesn't speak well of the Steelers' overall ability that they're struggling to beat a second-string Bucs quarterback. Luckily for them, they will have another relatively winnable matchup when they face the New Orleans Saints in Paris.
