Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is not shy about voicing his opinion.
According to Pro Football Talk, Rodgers discussed the issue Friday after arriving in France for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. The veteran quarterback has played international games with three different teams and said each trip has followed a similar schedule, with teams departing Thursday evening.
“I've played in three countries now,” Rodgers told reporters Friday. “In each of them, we've left on Thursday early evening. It would have been nice one time to come over on a Monday.”
Rodgers previously traveled internationally with the Green Bay Packers for a game in London in 2022 and the New York Jets for another London matchup in 2024. He then played with the Steelers in Ireland in 2025 and is preparing for another overseas game with Pittsburgh this weekend.
The quarterback's comments raise questions about whether teams should have more time to adjust to international travel before playing a regular-season game. Traveling across multiple time zones can disrupt routines, and an earlier arrival would give players additional time to acclimate before kickoff.
The Steelers will need to be prepared for a competitive matchup against a Saints team that has shown it can challenge quality opponents despite its 2-4 record. New Orleans is coming off a win over the New York Giants and has also defeated the Baltimore Ravens this season.
Article Continues BelowInternational travel has already become a talking point this year after the Los Angeles Rams faced the San Francisco 49ers in Australia in Week 1 following a late arrival.
Rodgers and the Steelers will now focus on Sunday's matchup with New Orleans. However, his comments highlight a concern that could continue to surface as the league expands its international schedule.
