The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering Week 2 on a high note after beating the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. And into his final season, Aaron Rodgers isn’t interested in taking questions regarding his teammates’ targets during the game.

Rodgers was at the Steelers press conference when a reporter asked about his thoughts on individual target stats after Roman Wilson tied for second in targets during a recent game. The Steelers veteran quarterback shut down the question right away.

“I don't give a sh*t about the target list,” Rodgers said. “I don't care about any of that. I love Roman, (and) I think he's done a great job, you know. I think there's going to be a player too. That he makes that allows him to take off. But I thought he played fast last week, thought he played decisive, and I think he's just going to keep on getting better.”

However, when he was asked one more time about not believing in the target list, Rodgers gave a rather straightforward answer.

“Because the ball goes to the open guy. So I don't want to hear people talking about nobody in the locker room talks about their targets. That’s all for you guys to talk about,” he added.

Wilson finished second on Pittsburgh with six targets, tying tight end Pat Freiermuth behind DK Metcalf’s team-high 10. Michael Pittman Jr., acquired from the Indianapolis Colts during the offseason, caught three passes for 58 yards on three targets.

Additionally, Rookie Germie Bernard played three offensive snaps without recording a target. The Steelers will likely continue finding ways to use his speed as the season progresses.

The offense still has plenty to clean up after averaging just 4.1 yards per play and converting three of 13 third-down attempts against Atlanta.

With New England waiting in Week 2, Pittsburgh will look to improve its offensive execution while continuing to develop its new receiving group.
