Standing at an incredible 7 feet 4 inches, the San Antonio Spurs’ prodigy Victor Wembanyama makes things incredibly easy on the basketball court. However, while his height plays a major role in making him one of the best basketball players in the NBA, it also comes with its own drawbacks.

One of them was on full display during the Spurs’ recent visit to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. While the rest of his teammates, including the likes of Julian Champagnie, Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper and Tobias Harris, appeared to have a field day at the theme park’s annual Fright Fest celebration, Wemby had to stay away from the rides, per the San Antonio Express News.

“I didn't do any rides,” he said. “I can't do it safely.”

As it turns out, Wembanyama’s contract does not restrict him from riding a roller coaster. However, he claimed that he would “rather not do it at all.” Still, despite being too tall for the rides, Wemby and the rest of the Spurs were met by a number of cheering fans, with one clip posted by Fullcourtpass on X showing the 22-year-old walk away from a ride alongside his teammates.

The outing took place just two days before the Spurs’ opening day fixture against their last season’s Western Conference Finals opponents, the Oklahoma City Thunder. San Antonio will host the Thunder at Frost Bank Center with both teams effectively at full strength.

The Spurs have listed only Tobias Harris as the confirmed absentee due to a calf strain while the Thunder are also confirmed to be without several rotational players. This includes Thomas Sorber, Otega Oweh and Nikola Topic, with all three players injured. Regardless, Wembanyama is largely expected to lead another title charge for San Antonio alongside a talented young core, and fans will be happy that the reigning DPOY is taking the necessary precautions, even if that means not being able to ride a roller coaster.
