The San Antonio Spurs held on for a dramatic 112-111 win over the Dallas Mavericks for what was their sixth straight win on the trot. However, the game will just as fondly be remembered for Victor Wembanyama producing a career-high of 54 points on 16-28 shooting.

The Spurs superstar was a constant menace for Dallas as he scored 28 points in the first half and then added 26 in the second for what proved to be an entertaining win, per Yahoo Sports. Wemby was effectively everywhere on the court, adding 24 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a stunning eight blocks to ensure the Spurs continued their winning run.

As the dust settled, Wemby is likely to have broken several records on the night. He became the first player in NBA history to get at least 25 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in a single half, with six of his eight rejections coming in the first two quarters.

The Spurs were dominant early in the game and had opened a 17-point lead in the first half. However, the Mavericks gave them a run for their money, responding with a 29-22 third quarter before taking the game all the way down to the wire with a stellar 31-22 final period.

However, the Spurs effectively won the game due to Wembanyama alone as Dylan Harper providing scoring support with 21 points and five rebounds. Meanwhile, Stephon Castle added 17 points and 10 rebounds, with De’Aaron Fox the only other San Antonio player to score in double digits, with 10 points.

The night completely belonged to Wembanyama as he converted 16 of his 28 points and got to his career-high despite missing all but one of his eight three-pointers. The Mavericks were led by Kyrie Irving, who had 29 points and seven rebounds.

However, Cooper Flagg had a difficult first half and could only muster 19 points, although he also grabbed 10 rebounds.
